Which hardcase for my new strat?

Of course I want my new Warmoth strat to have a hardcase for protection, plus it looks nice. The question is which one? I think I want one with yellow/gold like clothing. The outside maybe brownish or some other tweed-like look. Any suggestions?

Here's a link to Musician's Friend for rectangular cases . . . seems to be pretty much what you're describing.

But, if you're looking for protection/fit/durability, check out the SKB cases.  I have two, and they absolutely are awesome for protection and strength.

How about this one: http://gatorcases.com/Default.aspx?Section=Products&Page=Details&CategoryID=4372&CatalogID=9649
What do you guys think, any experience of these?

I got an older version of the SKB very similar to this one.

Same latches etc.
... and the only problem I have with it is that when it's loaded with a guitar you can see the aluminum around the handle flexing ( pulling out of shape ) when you pick it up.

Do you notice anything like that with your molded one?

Hopefully that's why the one I have now is no longer available and they've redesigned the rectangular ones adding more support where the handle attaches to the case.

The other down side is there's very little storage space in it.

Hiscox http://www.hiscoxcases.com/standardguitar_hiscox.htm

I've used these for years - they are (IMO) better made and much stronger than most others.
Also quite reasonably priced (here in the UK at least)

Neither of my SKB cases are rectangular.  So no, I don't have an issue like you're describing with the 'flexing' handle support.  And, true, there isn't a lot of storage space in these . . . but that's why I have a gig bag.

Thanks. It's good to know ... no flexing.
Next time I'll get the one you linked to.

+1
I've got 2 Hiscox cases.  1 Strat and 1 LP, and they are both very solid.  I'll be getting another when I finally get round to finishing my latest build.

Got it from Guitar Center for about $135.

Yeah, I have 'em for all my guitars now. Very well-built, and can take a beating your average hardshell wouldn't.

I want one of these, but they are twice as expensive here in sweden :( And many don't ship from USA to sweden and if they do the shipping cost is as much as the case. Anywhere in europe they are cheap?

It's, well... big. Ha.
Seems well made, I like mine. I haven't had it long, though.

FWIW, I had a Fender marked, built by SKB case "melt" inside Camaro.  Back in the 90's I rented a Camaro and drove to Louisville Ky from Fl.  Took my Strat along.  The big window in the back of the Camaro let enough sun hit the case and it MELTED.  Yikes.  The guitar was fine.
