Hello all, couldnt find an intro board so I'll just say that I am from South Africa and want to build a stratocaster nad then maybe a telecaster. Well, I want to assemble them wiht bits off Warmoth and anywhere else I get directed to. I am pretty much on the verge of getting swamp ash Stratocaster body and I dont know what to say when they ask me which bridge rout. You guessed it, I dont know which bridge. Which would be the most practical and reliable would you say?
Cheers - Ed

Depends on whether you want a strat or a tele. IMHO the two critical pieces that make a tele a tele are the bridge and bridge pickup.

If you think you also want a tele I'd let the strat be a strat. That way you'll end up with two guitars that both have a reason, rather than a tele and a 3 pickup tele with a funny headstock.

Well, for a first go I want to put a Stratocaster together. I've been thinking maybe the American Standard tremelo is the most logical but also heard that Wilkinson tremelo is pretty popular.

It really depends on what you do with the trem. If you are doing constant whammy bar tricks then you might want a Floyd. The 6 hole vintage trem is time proven (and affordable) but may not hold tune well if you are heavy on the bar. IMO, stick with that unless you have a reason to do otherwise. I do have an American Std and it is fine also. I have a Wilkinson as well but it is my least favorite.
