hey guys

Where is a good place to solder the ground on a push/pull or push/push pot? Side of the pot or the box where the switch is in?

They are both electrically continuous, so anywhere that you can get a good solder.  If there is room on the pot, try there just to avoid unnecessary heat on the plastic guts inside the switch.

take a look at the picture of my jazz bass wiring...

i soldered to the side of it, but there is also a tab on top.

you need to sand the surface a little so that the solder sticks

I mostly use the tab on the top, but I've also used the side of the pot... I like the tab on the top because I can use a small clip to hold the wire down and then just hit it with heat and solder real quick.

thanks guys!

I took a second look at it and I had more surface area on the box portion of the pot. Didnt sand it, just used a tiny glob of flux and everything stuck nicely to it!
