I can't see me ever needing such a thing, but I imagine there are a lotta traveling players who've suffered damage to instruments as a result of airline baggage handling systems who might look at it. Damage is so common that even people who've never had it happen to their stuff are chock full of stories and know at least enough to be concerned.
Thing is, looking at the video, it looks like a fairly complex system, which says "expensive". If that's the case, then there are cases that are incredibly robust, and while they're not cheap, I gotta think they cost less than that mechanically complex system that's still gonna require a case of some sort.
Besides, what does that system do for those who want to play their particular instrument? What if I'm Joe Bonamassa and everything I own is some rare piece that actually gets used on tours?
