Actually guys, if you got it for a good price, something under $100, i bet any of us here could fix it up and make it look normal, and it would play just fine. But you'd never want to sell it for fear that the buyer would eventually see under the pickguard and asume it was you who screwed it up.

The trash barrel is guaranteed to give you nothing for whatever you put in it. Ebay, on the other hand, has millions of people looking to get something for nearly nothing. The body may be scrap for most folks, but you never know. Even if the guy relists it at $20, that's more than the garbage man is going to give him. I've seen much more serious damage on perfectly good guitars in the name of creating a "relic" finish. Somebody's liable to buy that thing, hose it down with red automotive touch-up, stripe it with electrical tape, and call it a "signature series w/ relic finish" <grin>

I once routed a humbucker area from a P90 rout with a screwdriver. However, it was a Squier, and it had a Tele Deluxe pickguard. This I don't understand at all. Sorry to whomever this belongs to, but I'd laugh it off.
