What neck to use? Finish opinions needed please

I am working on this strat body.  I want to change the pick guard and need a color suggestion.  I also need to add a new.  I want to go raw.  I was thinking Wenge?  Or maybe the one in the photo but think it may be "too much" flash.

Opinions needed please.

I'd go with an aged pearl pickguard and this neck.  :headbang1:

I like the neck you pictured.  Not too flashy.  Would balance beautifully with the color tones of the body.

N' I'm a sucker for vintage cream for the pg.

I think White Pearl to complement the maple activity.

I agree and I think you could easily use either the neck you pictured or Wenge. I don't think the one you pictured is over the top given the burst on the guitar body.

Here's another 'vote' for the neck you pictured! :icon_thumright:! Very complimentary. And what a gorgeous top on that strat!! (Personally, I wouldn't even change the pickguard--let the body have ALL
the glory).

Pabloman...Pearloid or a vintage creme?
I guess Warmoth calls it vintage pearl. It's still flashy but more subdued than bright white pearl. It'll also help tie in cream face dots and furniture if you go that route.

I think that neck you pictured goes with that body pretty well. I agree that the top finish on that body is too busy already for a busy pick guard to look right. I'd stick with white, or go with my standby - black.

The guitar showed up today.  It is a really nice piece.  Back is a 2 piece basswood with some decent grain and there is the burl lam top, likely very thin.  Finish is great.  Not bad to $90.

I will string it up and try the pickups.  They will likely suck.  Maybe this can be a vehicle for the new floyd rose strat replacement whammy. :icon_biggrin:

What a nice top. Did you order the neck you pictured? That would work nicely with it. I'd probably go with a simple pickguard also. Let your eye go to the burl.

slight changes on  the body.  Pickguard from amazon...$4.99.  Its neither white or cream.  Actually a really nice "aged" unit.

Amber Les paul style knobs...free/repurpose.  The headstock is drying from waterside placement....more to follow.
Switched hardware to gold.....

I'm looking forward to a review on the GFS Gold foils!

I have a humbucker pair in another build.  Really sound nice.  I will post some sound clips
