What hard tail body for a 24 3/4" scale Tiltback neck?

Greetings,

Over the summer, I built a Hyrid Tele and bought 2 necks.  One of which was a Tiltback 24 3/4" conversion neck.  Wanted to use this neck with a trem, but tuning stability left a lot to be desired...hence the 2nd neck purchase (which, with an LSR nut and locking tuners works great).

So now I have this neck laying around and it has me thinking of getting a body to go with it using a hard tail/fixed bridge configuration.  I've built 2 Tele type guitars already and am thinking of something other than a Tele, but can't decide.  Thoughts?

I would say a hardtail strat, obviously!  A front routed strat is a really classic looking guitar with a lot of possibilities for swapping pickguards to change the tone.  They also have good upper fret access.

I like to make contentious generalisations about the tone of necks and will no doubt get criticised for it. ???  IMO a neck with maple shaft and Ebony fretboard is like to give a slightly dry tone without a lot of mids.    I'd choose a body wood such as 1) Alder.  2) (maybe) Black Korina 3) (maybe) Mahogany.  Those options have a bit of compliance to give a bit of warmth to the mids.  Personally I don't worry much about adding body weight on a hardtail guitar, since the flatmount hardtail bridge doesn't have a sustain block.

Do you know what pickups you intend to use?
