Related to some of the exotic wood choices, I find myself watching the showcase these days and being more open to the Standard Thin neck profile despite having gone to boatneck and fatback in anything I have had Warmoth do custom wise for me in the past year. Figuring some of the exotics are heavier than maple does anyone have experience with say a fatback version tipping the scale a little too much on a strat? Not really as much about overall weight as about balance of neck to body? I am thinking it might be right to stick to thinner versions of the heavier woods. My one exotic is a Bubinga neck I had done with the Clapton V at approx .85 at the nut. Cagey told me that neck weight in at over two pounds with tuners when he built the guitar it went with for me. I wondered at one point if I might have been a little happier if I had ordered it as a fat back but the weight might have been unwieldy.
