Hello all,

I'm gonna be starting a new build in a couple of weeks and am planning to use danish oil on the back of my incoming warmoth neck. I ordered it unfinished, and I'm wondering if I can use danish oil on top of the sealer that is applied by warmoth.

I'm gonna finish the face of the headstock with lacquers (going with a dark grey metallic finish, topped with nitro) and I know the sealer will pose no problems for that, but I really want to use danish oil on the back and wanna make sure that I won't have any problems before starting.

Cheers!

I don't think you'll have any trouble. It seems "Danish Oil" is more of a marketing term for real or fake Tung oil than anything else, and lotsa people use that stuff on Warmoth necks. There's a bit of discussion on it here you might find interesting.

Thanks man!

I'm gonna be using the Watco Danish Oil. I used it some 10 years ago on my very first build in high school, and that neck still plays like greased butter. It also aged to an almost vintage amber kinda tint. Looks gorgeous.

In any case, I just wasn't sure if the oil would actually penetrate the wood seeing as the sealer is there already.
