This showed up in the Thrift Shop... errr I mean Showcase
(disclaimer: yes I'm THAT old! Back in the days, the showcase was called "thrift shop" - I must be the only one who remembers :toothy12
So anyways, I'm usually a straight rock guy. But while I was bringing my other project (Warmoth Holoflake Strat) to my luthier, he had a Swamp Ash Strat with 3 singlecoils lying around and I started playing on it through his amp and really enjoyed the clean tones etc. and got this itch in my fingers... you know.
So had the urge to build a 50s style Strat. This will get a vintage style Warmoth neck with a 7-1/4" radius and three '56 Fender Strat singlecoils for surf tones.
I actually prefer hardtails to trems, and wanted it fairly lightweight, so when this 1-piece, 3lbs 8oz body showed up, it was like Jupiter and Saturn aligning!
I opted for a Sunset Orange finish in Satin for an extra kick
Actual pics to follow when the body gets here...
