Without any intention of controversy, but is it just me or showcase section it's very poor ultimately ?
Last year, when I bought my body (koa/mahogany ch ect.) and neck (pauferro/pauferro)  there was a great choice.
I waited for a few days to see the showcase news, but I am very disappointed.
Some days, 0 body (strat and soloist).

p.s.:
II'll buy only showcase body/neck if it returns like last year...

You can understand why Warmoth would not want too many bodies and necks up on Showcase, sitting around in their factory? Just enough to show what they are capable of..... :icon_thumright:

Poor selection of premade parts from a custom parts company?

At times I understand this, but it's probably that they make what will sell, and a select few are test options before making them official (like neons & glow in the dark finishes)

The reason they may currently have a poor selection, as you put it, is that they have sold out existing stock and trying to keep stock sitting around their factory taking up space to a minimum. Taking up space storing unsold products is a waste in both space and the cost of the rental of the factory.

Warmoth has a Gallery that shows all the finished bodies and necks that customers have completed, that's a good testimony about the quality of their product, and, of course, this forum.

The Showcase, to me, is a section that highlights the prototypes they are working on, the stuff they tried out to see how the people like it, and stuff that for one reason or another, was made up and not sold. I think they also do runs of generic popular models so they can sell in a bulk fahion at times. Like, they may do a run of Strats in solid colours, front routed in either hardtail or trem. They are pretty upfront if the item is a second, and they do disclose how much that particular body or neck would cost if you straight out ordered it.

It is your good luck if you find the exact body or neck you are looking for, at a cheaper price. I have picked up one body and one neck that way. It helps to keep costs down of your projects. But you cannot expect Warmoth to turn into a 'discount guitar parts warehouse', that is not why they are in business.

I dunno, it seems like they have been producing a lot of showcase items lately.  Maybe they just aren't as flashy as usual but they seem to be pretty prolific.

All ok, but...

I don't claim anything, I was referring to a fact.
Obviously, if I don't find what I try, I turn elsewhere  :icon_biggrin:

Your choice if you shop elsewhere Bruno, no one is holding a gun to your head saying "Buy Warmoth".  :dontknow:

There seems to be a natural ebb and flow to the showcase.  Sometimes it is stocked up with things I want, other times less so.  But by and large, I don't see a substantial change in the showcase from this year to past years.

One suggestion, if you do not already, you should subscribe to the RSS feed.  That way you can see on a daily basis what is being added to showcase stock.  Sometimes they may go a day or two without adding new inventory, but since I usually check it once per week, it is surprising to see how much inventory is added each week.

There are so many options though, sometimes it seems that there is nothing exactly like you want.  I guess thats part of the fun of the hunt.

I have already (long time) sub. the RSS feed (like I realized what I am saying).
Maybe not find what I'm looking for? Maybe, but you do a test: how many body, rear rout, contour hell, paintend, you see? Last year there were many (and I was spoiled for choice :P).
In this weeks, 1 or 2... (without binding).
But you do not worry, it's me that I'm wrong... :P

It seems obvious...

However, compared to last year something has changed
May be they do not have enough time with increased sales'
or maybe they are streamlining the business to survive in a world of Chinese made cheap products
Have you asked them Why?

I remember the showcase took a serious hit in it's stock after the big anniversary sale of last year. There were carved top soloists in stock pretty much all the time, but I don't think there's really been a carved top soloist in since. Maybe here or there very briefly, but not multiple at one time. That sale really cleared them out for a while, but I think they've mostly recovered. As for black korina, that's probably a risk for Warmoth. If they take a really nice top and make it into a strat then it takes the top away as an option for anybody who wants to custom order black korina. It seems like they've had a TON of black korina in lately, but I would bet they're pretty careful about what they make for the in-stock section.

They rarely have what I want in the showcase either, especially in the neck department.  But that's why the custom ordering option is there.  Just sayin'.  :toothy11:

I have checked the Showcase (before that the Thrift Shop) for quite a few years randomly, and the Carved Top Soloist has never been in high numbers there. At the most there would have been only 3 or so at any one time. More Flat Top Soloists and VIPs but not a lot of CT Soloists.

Yes that sale they had, did clear a lot of Showcase stock, and maybe they are keeping the stock down to a minimum? I really wouldn't blame them if that was the case, keeping stock on shelves must be a pain for storage.
