Yeah I did think about that also, it's hard to know what to do for the best really, unless I can see the different neck finishes in the flesh, it's all so subjective.

If you want a satin finish, try micromesh, which is a cushioned abrasive. Work your way back from the finest grit until you get the feel you want. On a solid rosewood neck, the finest grit leaves a feel similar to the screen on an ipad. Kind of oily, but not the least bit sticky. And it looks like stone
