Warmoth prototypes

Interesting swarfrat brought up English and dialects.  A lot of what people think passes for English, the Queens English, and/or received pronunciation see the first video is further away from Old and Middle English than dialects are.

In the second video which is talking about Shakespeare productions in English closer to how it was spoken in the time of Shakespeare is closer to a lot of so-called modern dialects. To me, Shakespeare comes alive far more in the original dialects.

Being brought up in the North East of England, I am familiar with quite a number of dialects in addition to modern English, and also I speak some Dutch. Interestingly some Dutch words are close to some words in Northern dialect and older English. But I can see how some may not understand it at all.

Now all I need to do is work on a plan for all English speakers who are not native to England to pay us a licensing fee  :toothy10:

10. Feed the Warmoth burn pile

I would be upset if you did this....everything can be saved.

Gibson used to cut their "mistakes" in 1/2....and we see when that landed them. :laughing11: :laughing3:

Vocablery?

He just has a softer u. This is a good example of a natural softer syllable rather than a more obvious u sounding syllable.

I am totally fine with them canning the prototypes & other qc that didn't make the cut.
Anything that gets released becomes a representation of the brand in the marketplace, and that quality translates to reputation, which needs to be protected vigilantly.

bastards!  LOL :laughing7:

Subsequently...I am seeing Greta Van Fleet in a few weeks.  Should be a cool show.  Maybe we can hijack this thread and discuss the opinions on the degree this band sounds like Led Zeppelin and should it matter. :turtle:

Absolutely. That's what I was alluding to earlier. Who wants bad (or even less than perfect) examples out there of what you're capable of? Especially in the age of the internet, where even the slightest variation can be latched on to by some bent/butthurt individual with a loud voice and overblown into an existential threat to an entire industry?

And that prototype to end up as the subject of a review on Google or other without the supportive context that this was never intended to be a production model, but was unfairly reviewed as such.

I've seen PRS personally walk up to a bandsaw with what "looks" like a perfectly good build, and sawn that right in half, because it doesn't meet spec.  You would, as a result, be hard pressed to find anything out there remotely representing what could have passed off as a PRS-reject.  More often than not, anything bad about a PRS instrument is likely the result of user mis-use, or aftermarket luthier error, NOT a result of PRS releasing said instrument.  His methods pay off because the reputation for PRS quality stands.

Simple answer for that. Do not burn your mark on said rejects. Only burn your mark on items intended for production, and even then... only *after* it passes QC. Without that hip Turtle on there, there's nothing to differentiate from any other hunk of wood...

Well, there's "conscience", and knowing Ken Warmoth, that's enough right there.

'Boffing' means something very different here in the Canadas

It means something, similar in the UK, but we won't be using "weapons" made of foam.  :evil4: :evil4:

Well, I say that, but I'm not as young as I used to be.  :sad1:
