Warmoth J-Bass neck on a Fender P-Bass Deluxe® 4 strings body

You push it man  :laughing7:

Yes, relocating the bridge is possible but : my bridge pickup won't be a bridge pickup anymore because the bridge would have to be recessed from about 1-5/8" (the edge of the body) ! This is way too much...

Moreover, old bridge mounting holes AND string-thru-body holes will show off nicely  :laughing7:

yeah. that would be aweful on multiple levels

Bendeg, you can do whatever you want modifying it... I tell you that if you want to attack it with a router and then re-finish it, you can even put the new 32"or 30" scale neck on it... MODIFYING the thing.... But, in this case, it doesn't worth the while... believe me!

Might say that you have no idea of how it can work or not is because you don't have all the knowledge needed to make HEAVY modifications (or using routers, etc).... Would be better to you try to understand better how works the instruments, phisically speaking... Perhaps a good couple or triple read on "How to build your own electric guitar" By Mr Melvin Hiscock is a good try...
I believe that those heavy modifications are something that you have understand and think easy, with no effort (but with a lot of attention)... When you have hard time to understand, is better try things easier, learn more then try heavy thing...

By now, buying a neck and body, putting together is about a nice challenge, I believe... :)

I agree, not experienced in instruments making, and I wouldn't do it.

But I've just received an email from UPS, my baby will arrive next Monday...Can't wait !

W sent it to my address instead of my instrument maker's, though I gave both addresses and mine as beeing the billing one, ok, not a big deal but duh !
I told my instrument maker I wouldn't want to see it untill it's completely finished, I might be tempted to open the boxes... :laughing7:

For my current Pbass, I was thinking of a complete refret/recoat. Might be nice to do it myself...

Yep, you're right, for me I'm still at the setup stage : truss rod adjustment, bridge saddles height, pickups height, intonation. All those things I've already understood and performed, just a bit difficult to find the setup that's fine for me...So, it's not the right time to put a W neck that doesn't fit my bass  :laughing7:

Here's my new W baby, for your eyes (only) :
