Warmoth Baritone 7 neck, rosewood+flame maple body

That looks really good!!
the edges could have been a little rounder for me, but other than that, great guitar!!

That looks nice.  I didn't think Rosewood and Bloodwood were going to look nice together until I saw this.  Excellent work!

You had me up until the input jack.
I personally would have placed it on the side of the body, but that's just me.

Some guys like to loop their cord back around the rear strap peg as a form of strain relief in the hope that if they step on the cord while moving around they don't break the jack or plug. With the jack mounted that way, he could not only do that more easily there would also not be a big loop around the bottom of the guitar. Not that that's a problem, but it probably makes for a more streamlined appearance. So, I'll forgive that one.

I would have put at least a 1/4", if not a 1/2" round-over on the edges of the body, though. Those sharp edges are not only going to be uncomfortable, the finish is going to wear extremely fast and the wood will take dents easily.

Overall, though, it's an absolutely beautiful guitar and one I'd be proud of.

And at some point early on, the dude say "Dammit, MY cutaway's finally going to be deep enough...."  :toothy12:  :hello2:
It does seem odd that most 24-fret guitars assume that your highest licks will always end with your little finger. :icon_scratch:

Good point, Stub. That baby looks mighty sweet, and the neck does look like an especially good one. I gotta agree with everybody about the sharp corners, though. But hey, that finish is totally friendly with any future carving.

That's my biggest complaint with Les Pauls. Once you get past about the 12th to 14th fret, you're flirting with carpal tunnel syndrome to play the damned thing. I've played acoustics that had better upper fingerboard access.

I'll agree with the jack, although it makes me wonder about non-standard strat jack locations that could work. I think moving it out closer to the edge, or maybe even (stretching the mind a bit) - put it on the edge in a flat spot - like just below the strap button, with chord coming up...

I think the input jack would have worked better recessed and at a different angle.... :dontknow:

Otherwise it pretty fricken awesome....

I think that jack is actually an output.

It's surprising how many people call those "input" jacks. I guess it's because they plug cords into them. Matter of perspective. Kinda like driving on the parkway and parking on the driveway <grin>

I guess technically it is an output jack, but just for a moment it could be an input jack. 'Cause you have to input the cable before there's any output... :icon_biggrin:

'Strue. Look at meat and potatoes. If it weren't for sex, we'd all be eating plankton.

It can be an output or input jack, depending on what you plug into it. Plug 120VAC into it and it will most certainly be an input jack for a few milliseconds.

Damn, I knew this would look incredible! Im not a huge fan of the jackplate either, but I dont think it looks bad at all. Nice guitar! :icon_thumright:

I think I  figured the jackplate out... the standard strat jackplate sorta radially projects out from the center of the guitar. Were the jackplate more or less tangentially aligned with an outside edge, anywhere, or radially aligned with where it lies, I think it would look more natural.  The closer to the center it is, the better the radial alignments looked. Either works at the edges, but tangentially aligned with the outside edge actually works well. I played around a bit with Gimp (free Photoshop sorta app) and found a couple alignments that I thought might work for me.

I guess it depends on what's on the other end of the cord.
