Hi guys,

Although i started this project last year, numerous things came up (pesky life!) and it took a while to complete.

As a quick background, this beauty originated from a sudden whim of a joke between my wife and I.  We have a beautiful young baby boy and when we transitioned him out of our bed @ 6mo into his own bedroom, my wife said with a grin, "so you are taking night shift every night, right?".  On a whim i shot back, "tell you what- i'll take night shift every night for the next year, but in return for your precious sleep, you get me a beautiful warmoth custom."  "DONE!" was the reply before i even had my last words out of my mouth and so here we are.  Many long sleepless nights in the making, this is my beautiful creation.

- Thinline Telecaster (no f-hole)
- walnut top on a mahogany body finished with truOil
- cocobolo (unfinished) neck with clapton v contour (super lucky to snag this as a custom order!)
- Lindy Fralin telecaster split-blade blues special for the bridge with a fralin humbucking p90 ((5% under) on the neck
- 4 way switch with 4th position switching series to parallel

This was my first build and I love the way it came out.  If there was one thing i would have don different is, i wouldn't have ordered the chambered body to go with this neck.  The body is amazingly light, however all together is a little neck-heavy.  Nothing too bad, but still- lesson learned.

Thanks for all the advice given from you fine guys and gals.  Please enjoy  :eek:ccasion14:

Holy SHART! Loving the walnut in particular, as well as the pickup combo/choice. Can you tell me what you think of the split blade in depth? Considering them for this strat body I have lying around whenever I get another Strat neck.

Swanky!  Is that a chrome-covered P90?  Looks very handsome.

And as the very proud papa of a six-month-old baby boy, I can totally see why your wife was so eager to trade sleep for an axe.  But it turns out you both win, with the baby and the axe.  Congratulations.

Tipperman- the splitblade tele from what i've played so far is a fantastic little pup.  I picked steel saddles to brighten the tone up even more and when playing bridge only, it has a nice tele twang.  I'll be able to elaborate more as I get more play time with it, but i'm happy with it so far.  Aesthetically, perhaps i like the look of the traditional single coil over the split blade, but i do like the lack of hum.

The chrome covered p90 is, unfortunately, painted plastic that came from lindy fralin.  Later down the road i may switch it out but it looks fine as is for now.

Bagman- congrats on your little boy.  I think six months is when they start getting really fun.  They just keep getting more and more interactive and every week i said, 'ok this is my fav week'.  Mine is 14 months right now and is such a blast.  He loves guitars and tries to (wildy) strum or smack the sides of my acoustic.  At 1 year, even though it's way too early for him to actually play, i got him a little $50 real kids guitar.  He loved dragging it around the house, but unfortunately those things aren't built for little toddler abuse and the head snapped off the neck when he dropped it after a month.  I recommend a ukulele because they are compact and sturdy.

Thanks dude! I didn't even know you had a kid cause my mind got caught up on the split blade. That's awesome!  :eek:ccasion14:

I'm not crazy about the thinline pickguards, but pairing it with the swan inlay looks awesome.

Schweet - I just noticed I saw this already, but I was just playing with Mahogany / Walnut in the builder. (BTW they broke the side view in the builder, so you can't see how pretty Mahogany/Black Line/Walnut would be.)

It's a shame there isn't any figured (or otherwise) walnut in the pick your own top section.

I've never been a fan of the night swan inlay pattern but I have to say with your wood choices and the beautifull grains and colors going on between the neck and body, it really does look great on your tele...nice job.  :icon_thumright:

Like lucky13,I've never been a fan of the Nightswan look - reminds me too much of the horrible Kramer ads from the 1980's when Viv Campbell was shilling for them.  But in this case, I see how the Nightswan arch continues the line of the pickguard in a very visually pleasing way.  If you meant for that to happen, I salute your vision, but if you didn't, well, what a happy happenstance for you!
