Startamania, the hole in the center is just the result of how I had to arrange the pieces. My bandsaw has a resaw limit of 6in. So when I bookmatch I have to add some in the center to bring it out to 13in. Some of it got cutaway for the pickup route..

Got it. I could see they were separate pieces but wondered if it was a secret tone chamber or some such wizardry  :icon_thumright:

Ok. I don't have a great build thread for this one as my nephew decided to download a game mod, and I spent untold hours scrubbing our lan and resetting and reinstalling everyone's OS. Then lecturing him on such matters.
Anyway, I lost all the pict's I had other than these, so there's somewhat of a jump in progress. It's black walnut and flamed maple with cherry accents.
The cavities are more for weight reduction than tone, as anyone who's hefted a solid walnut Tele before will agree with.

I must say, I'm not really liking the pickguard.  I think it looks better without IMHO
