Hey guys.
Just finished with the wiring of my tele as per the attached diagram and everything sounds great. The problem is when I turn the volume know down it loses a little drive, but doesn't affect the volume. This is a standard CTS pot from warmoth.

Thanks for any help!

it sure sounds like you wired from the two outside terminals of the pot and bypassed the wiper

Sounds like the volume pot isn't grounded on the other side, so all you're doing it adding series resistance to the signal rather than gradually taking it down to ground. It would have that exact effect. Or, if it's wired properly, the pot could just be open on that side. Replacing it is the only option in that case. Luckily, it's a $5 fix.

I know this is said often, but also make sure all your ground wires connect at some point.  If the ground for the pot doesn't somehow connect with the ground on the jack, it's not going to work.

Actually, I read this 'problem' as an artifact of the amp - one that a lot of people work really hard to get. "Drive" usually means distortion to most people - so if the amp is cleaning up - the volume to the input stage is indeed dropping.

I wanna change my answer to cageys answer, cuz that's exactly what I meant.  I was typing left handed, my wife was talking to me, i was texting while driving........
