Volume Issue

I got my blue LP wired up and I’m getting no volume out of it.  When I try to play on a distortion channel, it barely sounds like it.  The pots work, but it sounds like ten is two.  Any ideas?

It's my first wiring job as far as guitars go, so I may need to go back through and resolder some things.

Is there anywhere else I should look other than my wiring?  I don't think the pups are too far away from the strings, but I could be wrong.

Have a picture of the wiring? I'd check all your solder joints, and make sure they look clean and are well-connected to the pots and all.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I'll try and get some shots of it tomorrow.  I was definitely getting better as I was going along as I haven't soldered anything in a few years.  I got really thing solder wire too and it was taking forever to get enough on to actually stick.  Especially the grounds, so I may need to pick up  a thicker gauge wire tomorrow.

if you have a multimeter, go through and check the connections at each point, then try from start to finish. Work around until you find the problem.

They should be.  I've got them between an 8th and a 16th of an inch as per Seymour Duncan.  I'm going to look at it later today and see if I can find the issue, but I am going over to RLW's  house on Friday to take a look at it with him.  I think he can probably help me pin it down.

Hey, if you're going to RLW's, tell him we say hi, and that he needs to give us project updates and drop by.  :icon_thumright:

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm pretty sure the issue is that I'm retarded.

I just separated the red and white wires but did not join them with solder. I'm pretty sure that will fix my issue.

It unfortunately didn't work out today, but I am planning on going over there sometime soon.  I'll pass along your hellos.
