Vise?

Another newbie question:

Setting up my work area and was looking for a good vise setup.  I want to secure the piece without damage, obviously.  I've seen a couple of examples of  a scrap piece of wood mounted in the neck pocket, but nothing real specific. 
- I'm concerned about stripping the pre-drilled holes, or compromising the fit of the neck in any other way.
Any clues?  Thanks

I use regular neck screws with a stick. Since Warmoth holes are greater diameter than a normal neck screw I put a tooth pick down in the drilled body hole and it wedges in as the screw is driven in.  It creates a tight fit that does nothing to change the diameter of the hole.

All of these bodies except the bass are hung that way.

Here is a one hanging in the vice after being sprayed with the dark burst color band.

My only vice is cocaine and hookers.




At my old house I'd hang bodies from the rafters in the basement. Didn't have a place to put guitars though  :evil4:
