Got this from the showcase. Specs are:

Chambered
Swamp Ash
Forearm, tummy and heel contours
HXT routing
Top rout
Vintage white finish
Drilled for Tele bridge
7/8" jack rout

It weighs about 4lb5oz.

Sorry for terrible quality phone pics, white balance is all over the place.

So you can see the work has already started. I've shielded the cavity - can't do any harm and there's going to be a lot of wire in there. To my surprise, a super switch drops in just fine. I'd heard that you needed to remove some wood to get it in, but it's just fine. Even so, I've covered the shielding with painters tape just in case anything in there should touch the side.

The red wire you can see just goes from the humbucker cavity in the neck through to the control cavity. I couldn't get the soft humbucker wire through the rout, so I put some stiffer wire through and tied it in a loop. When I'm ready to put it together I just tie the humbucker wire to one end of the red wire and pull it through.

The ferrules are in:

I used the soldering iron method which works nicely, although I learnt a lesson doing the first one. You can see there's a slight blister of paint around the leftmost one. So for all the others, I just got rid of the little meniscus of finish around the entrance to the hole before I slid the ferrule in. The rest are great and of course you have to know and be looking for the problem with the first one.

The neck is coming from my 10-year-old Sonic Blue tele, and at some point I'll be getting a birdseye neck to put on that body.

Pickups are a SD '59 in the neck and a Little 59 in the bridge. Wiring is a 5-way superswitch giving me:

Neck
Neck split + bridge split in parallel
Neck + bridge
Neck split + bridge split in series
Bridge

Hum cancelling in all positions. Master volume and tone, obviously.

Here's a mockup with the components laid out. It's not the final pickguard but it will do for the time being. This picture is also the closest to the real colour of the guitar.

Love tort on white, I've contemplated a Jazzmaster with that scheme - looks great!  :occasion14:

Looks good, Jumble!  :icon_thumright:

I'm looking forward to seeing how you wire that up for series/parallel on the supahswitch.
