Video Series! I build a tweed deluxe from a cheap Amazon kit!

This is actually pretty cool! I kind of wish you would follow the kit first and then swap the transformer and pots later. You could even do a comparison if you built it from the kit and then modified it.

I didn’t see where you mentioned how much the kit costs. Isn’t the transformer usually the most expensive part?

Is it cheaper to buy the amp or build from the kit? How are the instructions with the kit?
 
just realized video 2! So I hope I can learn or ask you questions since I think you’re a pro and not the average newbie like myself.

Since the 2nd tube was “good” but not super strong, wouldn’t it have been ok to use it? Would it just need replaced more quickly, or may give a more possibly unique sound?

Edit: that stark tube testing machine is neat! So many knobs and things! How do you calibrate it?
