everybody i've seen playing a V in a studio or something plays it in the "classical guitar" position, with the lower horn between their legs. i wouldn't be able to play as well that way, so i guess i'll never play a V in a studio :icon_biggrin:
it is a much better position for technical playing, ever listen to classical or flamenco guitar? you couldn't do that with the "normal" position that most people use when sitting down. i sometimes play my strat like a clasical with the lower contour on my left leg and the neck up, try it sometime it forces you to use the thumb behind the neck not around to the top of the neck and gives all four fingers a lot of freedom. it depends on the music really. good for barre chords and arpeggios and sweeps, open chords are doable but feel different. might not be the preferred position for strumming open chords or the blues but albert king played a V strung righty upside down and he did just fine.
