Nice dude! What are you going to do with it as far as electronics and and components? What are the specs on the woods you chose, etc. etc. How long ago did you order it? Details, man!

Custom ordered SGD ND3 pickups (p2 style) going passive set up. (David is buiding them as we speak) Swamp Ash body, trans blue finish, Wenge neck w/ebony fretboard ( has a hint of maccassar ebony in it too! :icon_thumright:) Takeuchi string through bridge and 6130 frets. Larry Smaok at Wooden Wizard is doing the assembly and setup and all the detailed work for me! Took 10 weeks for it to come in (custom orders usually are in that time frame)

Thanks fdesalvo!! Appreciate it! Now it's time to research and build a Jbass now and deplete the savings account AGAIN!!  Now to try and make up my mind what type wood, laminate top, neck and fingerboard to get this time!! :dontknow:

10 freakin' weeks?! Noooooo!!! Today marks exactly 5 weeks since I ordered a showcase body getting paint and a build to order neck. The e-mail Warmoth sent had me believing 5-6 weeks... I can't bare the thought of having to wait ANOTHER 5 weeks...  :(

I've definitely got the "Warmoth itch." Maybe it's looking at other people's sweet builds, but I'm getting anxious to start building a fretless J Bass and a Tele, and I haven't even gotten my first order yet!

Patience my friend!! PATIENCE!! GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT!!! I thought the same thing too!! It was well worth the wait, now I still have to travel to Virginia to Larry and leave it with him for about 4 weeks for the final custom job!

Damn, the more i look at geckos, the more i want to do my active build as a five string narrow one of them stead of a Z musicman, Though if i do both then problem solved :P ..... But what about build #3 that is looming in my mind ...... Im screwed.....  :headbang1:

Deluxe 5 Jbass with mahagony body with flamed koa laminate top! Look at that one Solomon!  Fretless too!!! Now the neck is the brain killer for me! So many choices SO LITTLE MONEY!! ???

Not the prettiest girl, sure... but if she'll put out, she'll do!

Okay, I'm going to hell for sure for expressing that idea...

Seriously, it's a very nice looking body, and a nice change from the all-exotic parade of Geckos.  I'm looking forward to seeing how she comes together.

I like that a lot.  I love a simple transparent color... often moreso than some of the crazier exotics.  It focuses on how beautiful the neckwood is, and that will sound great.

Thanks Bagman, Tempest and AMark!! Love the anology Bagman!!  :laughing7:  I really love the color and the neck set up as well. What kinda shocked me is that the neck has some macassar look to it which I wasnt expecting! Warmoth did a FANTASTIC JOB on this baby! Soon as it's together I'll post more pics. Looking forward to Larry getting it set up and hearing these custom ordered SGD pickups! :occasion14:

Did someone say "macassar?"

I'm in love. That blue, man. You gotta tell me exactly what that is.... cause I want it on a Jaguar or a Jazzmaster.

Tipperman it is a Swamp Ash body with Transparent Blue finish, BUT  When I order my #2 JBass,  I am going with the Optional Choice Swamp Ash design! You should see it!! Bagman that fretboard is downright beautiful!! I'm looking at the Ziricote fretboard(fretless) for my neck on on a Goncalo Alves neck!! But now you just added more indecisions with that photo of the macassar fretboard!!! :icon_scratch:

A little willingness goes a long way... <grin>

Why would you say that anyway? That's gonna be a beauty! I don't even play bass, but every time I see a Gecko I'm tempted to build one.

Now don't be so modest, that's a beaut! It may not be what some call a "Coffee table" bass , but it is a fantastic looking working bass.

I really want to build a Gecko, but I have "enough" fivers and haven't been able to justify a six-string yet  :(

I have a Ziricote fretboard on a Goncalo neck, awesome woods, highly recommend them, Ziricote is a gorgeous wood too!
