Looks awesome GreatApe. What do you use to color? Oil and a brush?

Hey Greg!  If I win that would you be up for putting a coat of clear over it?

Which Greg are you asking, me Greg or him Greg.  :icon_scratch:
If its me Greg you are asking I would be more than happy to shoot another monkey. If it's him Greg, I can't say.

Egyptian culture has always fascinated me. I did my masters thesis (in music education) on ancient Egyptian music (bachelors in guitar performance). I play rock and flamenco guitar and my style is influenced by many world music forms.

I was thinking you Greg  :).  I thought there was only one Greg on the board!  Although I realize as I type this that that's pretty naive

Ummmmm...Who Greg? Rest assured SOMEBODY's gonna put a clear coat on it! Anyway, I'm using aniline dyes, enamel paint, prismacolor markers, and sharpies--whatever does the job I need at the moment....

I have heard sharpies and nitro do not get along.  Is that true??

Ape...what have you used to clear yours in the past?

WOW!
The highlight on the scarab is so cool. I'm stunned! This guitar is going to be the coolest ever.

Awesome coloring so far!

I think the issue is the solvents in the lacquer can make the color run.  a insure coast of shellac or light dust coat of the lacquer (nitro or acrylic) should be used.  We do not want to ruin all that hard work!!!!!
