Just wanted to share a bucket list event I experienced this week. I saw U2 on Wed and Thurs night at the Metlife Center in NJ. The first night, I was up in the nosebleeds and the second night, I was down on the floor 30 feet away from Edge's AC30. It was a euphoric experience... my favorite band playing my favorite tunes... the same four guys cranking out their message and music for 40+ years. The sound was a bit trebly from the stadium speakers but the quality of their singing and playing was absolutely outstanding. They didn't miss at all as far as I could tell. The entire stadium of 60K people (plenty of grey hairs like me, too) were singing our hearts out the whole night. The Lumineers put on a great opening show as well. All in all, one of the best musical weeks of my life.

Anyone else here U2 fans or go to the shows?

One of the 2 groups I have wanted to see that I haven't.  I am unemployed and couldn't afford the tickets and travel. Alas the other group will. Ot tour again.  I'd still be happy with a solo tour, but the locations/timings didn't work. So I will stalk his yacht again this year.  Pink Floyd / David Gilmour

I really liked U2 when I was in junior high (the late 80's).  However, all of my friends who liked metal and hair metal hated U2,
and always gave me crap about it.  I remember one day a new girl moved into the neighborhood who my friend (who was a huge Dokken fan) and I both liked.  My friend asked her which band was better: Dokken or U2.  She said, "Dokken. U2 sucks!"  Sigh...

Having seen Pink Floyd twice, once in the 80s (Momentary Lapse) and once in the 90s (Pulse), and David Gilmour on his solo tour last year, do NOT miss seeing Gilmour perform.  He is amazing in concert.

U2 is one I've never managed to see live.  If I had the chance to, I would jump at it.  There are two performers I would like to see that I have not seen, that would be Paul McCartney and Tom Waits.

My favorite 3 bands in high school through college (late 80's; early 90's) were U2, Rush, Police. But I was also in a metal band (we called ourselves "Auditory Distress") and we played Maiden, Metallica, Dokken, Whitesnake, etc. I also was in a dance/party band ("The Pedestrians") and we played Depeche Mode, Cure, Clapton, Zepplin, etc. Good times!

I'm an old guy.  I saw Rush during "Moving Pictures".  I saw Sting for "Dream of the Blue Turtles."  However, surprisingly, one of the best concerts I ever attended was Yes during "90215"  Hands down, bar none, the best concert I ever attended was Pink Floyd, May 18, 1988.  We were 20 feet from Gilmour.

Id like to see U2 was a fan when they came out with the War album (yes I am that old) By the late 80's fell out of like with them. Now its all good and woudl like to see them if they do a show near me when I have the money.
Concerts i have seen in the past Stevie Ray Vaughn was the best sounding not much of a show but that guitar sounded huge. for shows I would say Pink Floyd on the Division Bell tour was pretty epic.
Recent concerts Lindsey Sterling puts on a good show. Joe Satriani was great but at skull splitting volume. Los Straightjackets were a lot of fun.
