TV Jones Pickups: Which Pots?

I'm planning a BK Cabronita build w/TV Jones pickups primarily for slide. I'm assuming these are brighter p-ups than an average Gibson unit, and
never having played them I don't know whether to use 500k or 250k pots; I don't want painfully
bright tone, but I do want the character of the TVs to come through...Help...which pots? Thanks,
as always....

I use 500K pots on everything. If a pickup sounds too "bright", you have tone controls on the guitar, effects and amp to tame it. Better to get all the signal out where you can either use it or filter it out if necessary, rather than trap it in the guitar.

Thanks, Cagey, can't argue with that...even though there won't be a tone control on this guitar, just volume & a 3-way toggle, I have to agree that it's
gotta be best to have the "whole" p-up available....Thank you, sir...

I'd stick with the TV Jones classic if you're concerned about brightness.  TV Jones pickups are what you'd usually find in a Gretsch (or a pup very similar to them)
Note: I've only ever played on my in-laws Gretsch, no idea what pups were in it. I just remember the body was enormous and it had a Bigsby.

I used the Powerton neck and Powerton Plus bridge with 500k pots in my La Cab.
Yes, they are bright, but not ear piercing bright.  But hey, this is a tele were talking about  :dontknow:
I really love the TV Jones pickups and am sure you will as well.  The folks at my luthier's shop that did the setup had a hard time giving it back to me.
Good luck with what ever you choose...
