Could anyone explain to me why the Tone Pros Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Tailpiece is so much more expensive than the Gotoh units? Are the Gotohs at least as good as the original Gibsons?
I have a TonePros on my Schecter. The only difference I've noted is that the low E string is much easier to accidentaly hit out of its saddle on that bridge than any other ToM I've played.
Tone Pros initially were in fact, Gotoh with a set screw added. I'm not sure if they've changed to an un-named unit made for them.
Forget the claims of "sustain" and such. The only advantage to the TP stuff is that you can take off all the strings, and it doesn't fall off the guitar. If you change strings one at a time... thats not an advantage.
