Tonight was the first time I tried using the side adjust nut on one of my Warmoth necks.
Loosened strings all the way of course.
Am I correct to discover that it takes a lot of turning compared to the heel adjust nut to get the same amount of change in relief?
I started with a turn to the left close to from 12:00 to 11:00 if you look at the Allen Key as a clock hand
and it didn't seem to do anything. I'm checking the relief with a feeler gauge.
I then loosened the strings again and turned it a full 1/4 turn to the left
and if anything the relief only changed about .0002 at the most.
That side nut thing strikes me as odd and unpredictable, probably because I'm not used to using it.
I needed to restring anyway so I pulled the neck off and did the adjustment at the heel.
Got it a lot closer to where I want it now with about a turn from about 12:00 to 11:20.
So the question is:
Am I correct to discover that it takes a lot of turning compared to the heel adjust nut to get the same amount of change?
Thanks!
