Troubleshoot a pickup

Hello,

Having trouble with my Anico 2 Pro bridge pickup for my Telle build. It was working at first, but after assembly I get nothing. I have isolated it and run jumpers direct from the input jack to the pickup and still no sound. My connections to the pickup solder points are sound and I am thinking that maybe a winding wire was damaged while installing into the chrome plated bridge plate(?). I have a multi meter but am unsure of how to set it to test the pickup.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Have you inspected the pot and the jack to ensure that they are working properly?
Perhaps the error isn't in the pickup, but in other components.

Hi, Thanks for helping. Wasn't sure this post even made it out.

I have it isolated to the pickup. I am guessing it has a broken winding wire. I am thinking there was a burr on the mounting plate. I get nothing at all when I put my Ohm Meter across the pickup solder points. The rhythm pickup is fine.

Will have to see what SD customer support says about it.

Pickup winding wire is as fine as frog's hair and so very easy to break. If you get a magnifying glass, you may be able to see where the connection is lost. Whether or not you can repair it is another story. If you call SD, I wouldn't offer too much information about how you've worked with the thing. Just say it has no output and leave it at that. They'll replace it, and all will be right with the world. The things cost them almost nothing to make.

Thanks guys.

I guess I am just having a run of bad luck for the Holidays. Now a drain pipe is clogged.. of course on Christmas Eve. "No sound from pickup" that is my story and I'm sticking to it.

Hang in there, brother! We've all been there!

If it makes ya feel any better, I had the pleasure of installing a new water heater about a year ago yesterday. -Oh, the memories!  :laughing7:
