I'm slowly finding out just how little i know about the used guitar market.

what do you think of a MIJ epiphone elitist les paul for my highway one stratocaster?

im starting to think you are kidding about these offers.

epiphone is generally a huge step down from any guitar. keep the fender for a better trade. im not trying to be condescending or an ass. but, come on. at least compare prices.

I did. The highway one generally goes for $600-800 new. The Epiphone Elitist was selling for $900-1,099 new when it was available. It was discontinued last year.

didnt know it was discontinued. if its in good condition, take it. then capitalize on the fact that its been discontinued on your next trade up.

The Epiphone Elitist is MIJ and a beast of a guitar.  I've played a couple that were easily better than Gibsons that I've played, and I believe they have the American hardware/pickups.

I'm of the opinion that a lot of what comes out of a couple of these Japanese factories is superior to most US made guitars of similar or slightly higher price range.

Love the elitist epiphones, they are top guitars, the ones I've seen. I'll get one of those archtops one day.

the guy backed out of the trade, said he got a deal for a mesa amp. Oh well. I think i'm gonna abandon this idea.

It's not that i dont think it could work, i just need a new amp for the band i just joined, i'll take a straight up trade.
Then i'll probably throw a W neck on the strat.

now i just need to decide woods.  :sign13: maybe all bloodwood.
