Am I missing something here :icon_scratch:

This company is very famous for selling cheap bootleg replicas made in China. It may say Gibson on the headstock...but you can rest assured that it ain't.

Actually, that probably is a Gibson in the picture.  That's just not what you're going to get.  There are several of those sites.  If you see a Gibson for $300 it's either stolen or one of their sites with super cheap knock offs.  I know they give people hell for ordering them on mylespaul.com even when they know they're fake because they don't think they should be encouraged at all.

I think it's painfully obvious when the first sentence in the description is:

"Since we first published this instrution in 2007, we received many feedback one after another, that from guitar seller all around the world."

The whole thing is pretty awesome Engrish-wise.  I love how they claim to sell their "instrutions" to Fender, Ibanez, and Gibson.

OR, for a few hundred more (i.e, save up a few more weeks), you could build a sweet Warmoth LP just how you want it! ^_^

I forget what the opinions were on the les paul boards as to their quality from the ones that had bought them beyond that everything was crap electronically and hardware wise.  I don't remember what they had to say about the finishes or actual woods.  I do recall someone saying that once they had replaced tuners, bridge, STP, caps, pots, jacks, and pickups that it was solid, but then you're at around $900 to $1000 and could have gotten a decent Gibson for that or, as stated above, a Warmoth.

i dont know...unless the neck joint sucks it seems to be a bargain to get a finished body and neck for $300 whereas an unfinished carved top lp body is $400+

What about the "grover sliver color metal and the strap which like the pictures show by free".  :toothy10:

The headstock says Gibsun - look close at the O, its a U

also the dot on the "i" is way too high

What's with the canadian maple leaf next to the logo on the case?  :icon_scratch:

Mayfly's trying to pull a fast one on us

great communications great products can recommenced

seems like the same person for all three, and two of them even have the same name. could have been an accident and they posted 2 reviews, but really :tard:

anyway, if you're really in need of an LP and on that much of a budget i'd tell you to take that money to agile guitars. never owned one, but read TONS of positive reviews

Gibsuns are awesome. Not as good a Funders, but better than Ibunez. Plug one into a Murshall amp & you're ready to rock.

*Ready to ruck.

Could be worse.

Don't give in to temptation. A buddy of mine actually brought an LP custom on ebay for about $400 AUD. I had a look at it when it arrived and while it kinda looked right the weight was all wrong. My guess is that these are made out of a cheaper wood(may not have even been mahogany, and wasn't dried properly). Closer inspection showed that the edge biding was too thick, the neck was bowed like a snake(no amount of adjusting by his guitar tech could get it straight), and the pickups sounded like complete garbage. Serial number on these are also hard to verify, as they are getting pretty good at receycling the gibson ones. Also the bridge and stop bar were cheap quality knockoffs.

After alot of struggle he was able to freeze the sellers paypal account, and finally got the guy to to refund him his money, but he unfortunately ended up out of pocket $100 for shipping.

Do not to be buying this you will regret please.

:laughing3:

"Location: Beijing"

In case the reflection of the Chinese guy taking the pictures, the super low price, and the URL weren't enough, everything is in sweet sweet Engrish.

The guitar is obviously a fake.

There are so many things wrong with it in addition to what's already been spotted here (like the Gibsun headstock inlay and the Epiphone pickups.)

  • The truss rod cover's material (ABS?) and shape are wrong.
  • The diamond inlay on the headstock doesn't look quite right.
  • In the close-up of the headstock, you can see the fret ends over the binding. (A real one would have the binding over the fret ends.)
  • The way the (illegitimate) serial number is stamped is wrong. (Real ones, surprisingly, aren't as crisp.)
  • The ABR bridge has the larger diameter (Epiphone/metric sized) posts.
  • The COA looks like it's fresh off an ink jet printer... from a photograph.

The case may actually be a real Gibson case. They're made in Canada and come with that sticker. Although it looks like they've scratched off some of the silver spray paint so the case reads "Gibsun" as well.

It's sad really but I guess there's a market for knockoffs like these *cough* Ed Roman *cough* or else why would they make 'em?

I say buy it and let us know first hand how good or not it is, If I had the cash layen arround I would.

no man, thats a total fake. can't you see? the split diamond on the headstock is for instance too small and not made out of pearl. the fretboard is rosewood, not ebony.

I only looked at the pic for 1 second, didn't even zoom in on the details...I'm sure I could mention a ton of other wrong features.

edit:

wrong logo
wrong headstockshape
pots at the wrong location
toggle at wrong locatioin
bodyshape is wrong
serial number; font, placing, style is wrong
backplate shape is wrong
togglecavity plate shape is wrong
case is wrong too

Okay, shoudl I go on? :P
