Tone control

Do you use an audio taper (log) pot or a linear pot for your tone control? I understand it is done both ways, but what is your prefereence and why? Thanks

I use linear pots but that is only because they were recommended to me by someone who knows a lot more about guitar wiring than I do    :dontknow:
