in case that doesn't show up here's the thing on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=110241059886&Category=2384&_trksid=p3907.m29

scroll down and look at the picture that shows the neck screws... does that look OK to anyone? Looks like a fudge up to me.

I hate it. Not from a structural viewpoint, but from a butt-ugly-from-Hell viewpoint.

I think it looks fine.  It would have been better if he'd sculpted sharp edges off the heel of the neck.  I wouldn't attempt either.

I think he was attempting something along the lines of the ibanez all access neck joint. except that ibanez makes it look WAY better.

looks fine? based on what??

due to the unusually deep countersinks, those two screws closest to the edge are going to crack the body the first time the neck get a semi-serious jolt

this is a body destined for the money pit or woodstove

if this doesn't give you the willies I have a few bodies in my scrap heap I'd be willing to sell you at a reasonable cost

all the best,

R

I'll have to agree with dbw, the guy should have sculpted the neck as well, and probably use one more screw in the center..... :dontknow:

I agree that it's likely to seriously affect the longevity of the body, but I'm sure this guy is aware of that... he just cared more about high note access.

The screw holes through the body are huge, and the high E string is falling off the neck - this might be the guy's first "practice" build? No telling what the inside looks like, but at least he's got some creativity - good for him, not necessarily good for the buyer! :glasses10:

Haha, I love the football jack plate without a jack. Oh oh and why is it back routed?? :icon_scratch:

I've just spotted the jack plate.  :toothy12: What on earth is the guy trying to do with the guitar?

Apart from the issues already discussed I quite like it.  What a shame.

Note - four holes in the body, only three in the neck... even accounting for the weird placement... its not there.

No doubt there is a certain korina SG in this guys past as well.....

lets top route it, and rear route it... just to be safe

The neck joint reminds me of an Ibanez S series neck joint with more potential for splinters.  Should be pretty light with all that routing, or is the back cover on just to look cool like the football jack plate?
