look at the neck joint: not bolt on. look at the inlay: the blocks are too square, not rounded, like warmoth's. the binding on the headstock and body..

It would still have the neck pocket even if it were a blank.

HEadstock binding? What looks like multi-ply pearl binding on the body? Either it's not a Warmoth or it started life as a very basic Warmoth body and had some serious, serious work done to it.

I know you are probably an expert in LP bodies from Warmoth, Orph, (having a gazilion of them) but I can't see how you can establish what type of neck joint is on that guitar from that photo......very unclear to me. :dontknow:

there's no horizontal line for a boltneck, there is a vertical line at the end of the body indicative of a set neck.

Seeing as though that portion of the photo is in some shade, I wasn't relying upon the vertical line I saw as conclusive proof...

I'm collaborating with an old friend on a five-string fifths-tuned instrument that combines elements of mandolin, sitar and electric guitar, and I'm in the early stages of shopping for wood. Warmoth's prices for neck and body blanks are quite favorable compared to to LMII, Stew-Mac (who I woodn't trust on wood) and any other place I've seen. So - it could be a Warmoth, in a sort-of way.... It wood be quite easy to order a stock body and deepen and lengthen the neck pocket to set a custom neck into it; if you wanted a certain basic shape, why not. I feel confident that Warmoth's wood will be aged and stable, which is not certain with some lumber dealers.

But hey -  if of you guys have a 30" X 12" slab of alder, I can get both bodies out of it, and both necks out of a 40" maple neck blank. Beep me....

Well, you can order a body without neck pocket route... A guy I know did it... just the LP route, no pickup, bridge or neck pocket route and did a set neck

that line it too clear to be dismissed as just shade.

I dont care if its a warmoth or not, I think its a fugly guitar. but if warmoth has it online as if its one of their own, when its not one of their guitars, its just wrong. And if its indeed a les paul body ordered without the neckpocket, they should've said so in the description, so others won't be tempted to ask 'can we have a set neck tooooo??????!?!!!??!??!'

thats all.
