Body for my indian rosewood neck.

This is my fourth "all Warmoth".

Pups are somewhere between Puyallup and here.
Fralin blues for the neck, and "SD little 59 for Tele" at bridge.
GraphTech piezo saddles. (inspired by Tfarny`s beautiful thinline)

There will be no pickguard, but a "controlplate" made of rosewood,
shaped as the lower part of thinline pickguard.

Liberon Finishing oil.
I always use that, no other suitable (that I know of) aviable in Norway

Body came yesterday, it is already oiled twice.
Now I`m planning on "what next", and what will look good.

Comments and ideas are welcome.

That body looks lovely and really works with the neck, but i'm not sure about the control plate......

I agree, the colors are a bit off.  Maybe some sort of amber stain on the rosewood?

I`m not shure myself, Jim.
Can see some misfit now.
However, the rosewood will be much darker when oiled, almoust black.
One rule about this project:
There must always be a "go back" , without holes drilled all over the body.

Hi there,

That body looks fantastic and it's a fab combination with the neck!

I agree with the other posters though - I don't like the control plate.

IMHO, you can either try to match the body wood (damn near impossible), match the hardware (very possible), or just do something that will fade away and not be that noticeable.  One option might be black.

If it were my guitar I'd be tempted to use gold to match the hardware.

In any case, it's a killer looking build.  I wish it were mine...

It would be nice if the rosewood control plate matched the Indian rosewood of the neck. I would like to see what it looked like after you oil it.  :icon_thumright:

Ditto there jim, you must have been reading my mind. Stop it..... Beautiful guitar and neck, but the contol panel is a bit iffy......

Thanks for the feedback from all of you.
Here is a pic with another "testplate", that is oiled.
It is a bit better match.

Nice project! I like your control plate idea, it's very original.
As for installing the piezo saddles, the wires can be made almost totally invisible for a much cleaner look. Drill little holes in the bridge under the saddles - I did three holes, right between the E and A, D and G, etc.. Then rout a small channel under the bridge for the wires to go through. Then, "packing it in" is going to be a lot of work, but once it's done those wires will be out of the way. On my thinline, you have to get up really close to even see that there is a piezo system.
The alternative of course is to run them all into the bridge pickup rout, where it will be even more crowded and messy.
Good luck, and keep posting pics. Nice project.

I like it
