Thinkin' about changing hardware...

Thinkin' about changing the hardware on my amber thinline.

Its all black now.  Thinking about - if I can find it - nickel, and changing the pickguard from tortie to that vintage pearl stuff W has.  Sorta give the axe a bit of face lift.

I suppose I'll have to maybe do a creme pickup cover, and cream ring then too, yes?  Then change the knobs....to gold, or at least dark amber.

Thoughts?

I've seen nickel in different parts before, but not sure of the quality. But the nickel plates I've done before were of good quality...

You can go with a chrome P-90 and ring.  Maybe even nickel Tele knobs.

Hey I see StewMac has nickel listed, which means its made.  I can probably find it cheaper on ebay - especially the tuners.

So what color for the pickguard?  Pearl white?  Vintage pearl?  What?

Yah, except they're goin on ebay new for under $30 !!!

Just pulled the trig on Fender/Gotoh nickel 6-in-line Kluson copies... $35 including shipping - new in Fender bag.

I guess I can do StewMac for the others, as ... right now no bridges of the type W sells on ebay in nickel.

So... white pearl?  Vintate pearl?

Somebody is gonna reap the benefit of me dumping my black hardware.

I like the lighter pickguard. 

Got some time here, maybe get some more hardware ordered.

cb, tortoise would look good with nickel/chrome hardware. try that out first with nickel/chrome hardware - if that doesn't tickle you then you can try a different pickguard.

Any change away from tortoise is a good change! I like the white pearl, I'd get that with chrome hardware and P90 cover. Yum.

I think there's gonna be some nickel hardware inbound soon.  Can try it with tortie guard, but... I'm really guessin that its gonna like a lighter guard.
