Oh, the waterslide I did as follows:

Shellac'd the bare wood, sanded lightly with 400.  Applied waterslide decal, let dry overnight, Applied another coat of shellac, let dry overnight, then started doing coat after coat of deft satin lacquer (probably 8 or so).  Waited a week, then sanded, using actually 1200 I think, then lacquered, then sanded again till the decal disappeared into the finish.  Tedious process, but good result.  Body is shellac and poly.

Thanks.  I have always gone straight to nitro or poly.  At times the ends have peeled up.  I will try the shellac trick.

I'm with Dramco. Killer job on the decal. Makes me want to give it a go. Thanks for the sharing the technique.
