The "Wilkinson Wobble": what should I do when I get my wilky?

So . . . . there's obviously something wrong with the Wilkinson VS 100 that causes the trem arm to wobble for many people. If I get a wilky, what exactly should be done BEFORE I put it in my guitar, so that I won't have to take it back out of the guitar later to fix this defect?

It doesn't happen to all of them! it happened to one of mine, and I have installed quite a view...
I replaced the nut with a piece of threaded pipe, which has been working well..  Check out the clip from TAEZ666 for more options

so . . .  you removed that nut, then just tightened it back on again extra tight? that's it?
