The Warmoth Schaller locking-tunders.

What I understand the Schaller locking-tuners Warmoth sells are the same hight. But what hight are they? Are they as low as the lowest tuners in a set of staggered Schaller-tuners(I've seen there's sets of staggered Schallers out there). Will I be able to skip stringtrees with these?

As for exact numbers I don't know. I can tell you that you don't need string trees with them. Although there is nothing wrong with doing so if you prefer the look.

Sounds very good, I think I'll prefer the clean look without the string trees. Can't wait for my stuff to arrive from Warmoth. Time seems to be standing still!

As for exact numbers I don't know. I can tell you that you don't need string trees with them. Although there is nothing wrong with doing so if you prefer the look.

If I had my nut looked at by a professional, I wouldn't've needed the string tree.
Since I already had a roller tree laying around, I used it.

I will get string trees included with the american standard tremolo, but I think and hope I don't have to use them.

I have regular-sized Schaller locking tuners, and the poles are the same height, but the holes drilled in them are different.  Hope that's not an obvious point to make!

It's difficult to measure exactly, but it appears the post ends up about .325" from peak to the headstock face, and the stringhole centerline appears to be at .225". All six are the same, and I can't see how you could get the strings any closer to the face of the headstock. So, you don't need string trees unless you have a poorly made nut.

I have 4 Warmoth necks here, none of them with string trees. Don't miss them a bit. They're unsightly, and in the best of cases only serve to keep the string from popping out of the nut slot and might not provide an additional place for the string to hang up and provide for unstable tuning, although they usually do. Don't believe what you hear about vibration transfer; it's horsepucky.

Whoever does Warmoth's nuts deserves everything they get for the job (s)he does, as it's excellent. Standard cut is for .010s, though, so if you want/use anything bigger you might want to call your order in rather than do the online thing.
