It's taken me years to finally do it, but I did. Building my first parts guitar WITH INTENT.
I've built a few out of what was laying around, but this is the first one that's designed from the ground up to my specs.
Body
- Mahogany V-K
- Single wood-mounted humbucker
- Single volume control
- Recessed ToM with arched strings
Neck
- Warmoth headstock
- All wenge
- Side dots only, no top inlays
- 24.75" conversion scale
- 1-5/8" nut
- Standard thin profile
The plan is to simply Tru-Oil the body, slap it all together, and rock out kinda like this:
arty07: Except with grey hair.
I'm completely undecided on pickup. That will probably wait until I have it assembled and see what it sounds like on its own. Given the godawful noisy stuff I typically play I'm thinking along the lines of an Alumitone Deathbucker or Duncan Invader. We'll see when we get there. Until then... cue the cliche Tom Petty song.
