In 2024, I received an extra body from Warmoth for warranty reasons. After some brainstorming with a few forum members, what to do with the extra V-K body, the amazing @vernschrock @Rick and @aarontunes + Warmoth itself and I decided to donate parts, most notably the neck from vernschrock, pickups from Rick and bridge/tuners from Warmoth/Aaron.
The build was finished in November 2024 and ever since i have been trying to find a worthy recipient. Someone who is in need and deserves the instrument AND someone who will actually play it. My wife is from Colombia, I know people who are frequently in Ukraine and I traveled to Kenya but we somehow never found the one person who would be the perfect match. So I had the guitar hanging in my living room for about 1 year when I saw a video by M. Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold who sent out greetings to Evyatar David, among the last group of hostages that were released by Hamas in October 2025. I did a bit of reading and not only is he a huge metal fan, he is also a fervent guitar player. It immediately clicked and I set the wheels in motion by contacting a few friends in Israel who finally put me in touch with his brother. After a bit of organizing (I was competing with Donald Trump who he met in December), we finally agreed to meet in Tel Aviv. Long story short, after 14 months, the "Unofficial Warmoth" guitar has found the perfect owner. Please find the pictures below.
If you don’t know Evyatar, please google him. After being kidnapped from Nova Music festival he endured 2 years of unimaginable suffering in captivity in underground tunnels. A graphic video of his torture was released in August and made worldwide news. Now Evyatar is 25 and in great spirits, very open to talk about his experiences, currently traveling the world and overall, an absolutely amazing, zen, funny, positive and adorable human being. The guitar could not be in better hands and I am grateful that we waited so long to find the right recipient.
