+1, this is gonna be one AWESOME guitar. Seriously.

Thanks! I was not planning another build so soon but I already had the neck. I had decided I wanted to give Mahogany a try for the body and was thinking about trying a DIY finish again. Then this one popped up in the showcase I HAD to grab it.  I'm pretty excited, I think I will get it built fast...

Note to self: stop watching the showcase all the time!  :laughing7:

showcase drives my imagination!  i saw the raven there!  only reason i went blue was id like to have it black dye back too..  the raven is a great name for that feathery finish, you gotta get a custom neckplate!  maybe all black with an outline raven head in profile? spooky like.  with a red eye!

I already bought a plain neck plate for it but I agree, it might be time for my first custom plate. Something about that top really does look like the wings of a black bird. Is it Friday yet?

Pretty damn happy with how far I got tonight. These were my first wood mount pickups, hopefully I'm in the ballpark on the height. The only snag I had: I found out the hard way that the bridge pickup wire goes directly below one of the mounting screws  :o  I nicked the wire pretty good when I went too deep drilling the pilot hole (there's a "that's what she said" joke in there somewhere).  I measured the resistance of the pickup and it still seems OK. A couple more pics, good night all...
