The Fab Faux - Abbey Road Side 2 (mostly)

To be honest, it's a credit to Brian Epstein and George Martin that they survived as long as they did. Living in such close confinement for years, like some weird prison. Add into that all that creativity and passion it's amazing that it lasted so long and so much great stuff came out of it. The fact that they could put it all aside and produce something as wonderful as Abbey Road is just unbeliveable. The thing I love about Abbey Road is that the section posted here (which is fantastic btw) is like rapid fire number ones, any one of the snippit songs could easily be a huge Beatles hit.

Abbey Road has always been important to me, in ways I will never try to understand.  I listened to it on vinyl as a child, and it's always one of a handful of CDs that I re-purchase immediately when stolen.  My current band has decided to cover Mr Mustard/Polythene Pam/She Came in Through the Bathroom Window for fun, and I can honestly say this is the first time in my life I've played a Beatles song,  It almost seems like sacrilege, but these guys are the only people I'd want to play these songs with, honestly.  I find myself knowing Paul's basslines without ever having even thought to play them before.

I think Come Together is the only song on Abbey Road that I know.  I grew up with Sgt Pepper, White Album (never really liked it) & Magical Mystery Tour (my favourite album)
