The benefits of real wood pickup rings?

Everytime I need a little more treble I replace with maple pickup rings.

If I need more bass I switch to the ones made of mahogany.

A little more midrange I use either swamp ash or alder  pickup rings.

Mostly because my amp was rather expensive and I do not like to put unnecessary strain on the EQ-pots on it.

If you think it makes a difference, it makes a difference.

'Strue. The power of suggestion is tremendous. Much of dogma surrounding the electric guitar is based on it.

Only one way to find out; the double-blind, placebo controlled test. Someone go ahead ship me two guitars and two amps and I'll gladly conduct the research.  :party07:

Can't knock the looks, but it is a look.  If they make tone improvement claims, back it up.

Why? Anyone knows that guitar mojo is a truism.

And I bet that Eric Johnson can hear the difference ...

The Eric Johnson stories have been exaggerated to Chuck Norris status.  For the sake of arguement, if he could hear a difference, he's still using the plastic ones on his humbucker equipped guitars.

What I really love about this site:

It gives a broken link to a sound sample!
