So my previous baritone was OK.  The Floyd didn't work so hot.  It needs a fixed bridge.  Its the "Abominable Iceman."  Anyone have a better name?  The bridge pup is a DiMarzio D Sonic, the neck a DiMarzio PAF 36th.

so why the locking nut? or is that just a neck from another project? either way ive always thought that throwing a metal nut on a neck could make open notes sound more like fretted ones and maybe help sustain with the mass on there  ???  without locking down the nut, of course.

but that thing looks AWESOME! very nice, i like it alot

do baritone bodies need to have the bridge moved, or could you throw a 25.5" neck on that and be fine? i've always wondered... i would think it would need to be moved, but ive seen baritone projects using stock guitar bodies... i thought, anyway...

you should get this tailpiece and then lock the nut.

I find myself hypnotically drawn to Iceman shaped guitars and baritones. Put the two together and I'm transfixed.  *drool*

Wow, I bet that sounds like 50,000 metric tons of lead bricks being dropped on a kick-drum factory.

Thanks guys.    :icon_thumright:

Dan:  I think the body was 4.5 lbs.

Doug:  Actually 1 1/2 (its not wired up yet)   :icon_biggrin:

JaySwear:  The neck is from another build that I had done, a VIP baritone with a Floyd.  The Floyd was not the hot ticket for a baritone, so that body became another standard scale guitar.  That's why it has a locking nut.  With the Warmoth baritone conversion neck, any standard body can be used.

Rockskate:  I like that Gibson bridge.  This body was from the Screamin' Deals section, and was already drilled for the TOM/STP.

DBW:  I don't know yet, but it should.  Great metaphor!  :laughing7:

It won't FIT!? Dang non standard measurements... it looks like a drop in replacement for a standard tuno tailpiece. You sure it won't fit?

I didn't say it didn't fit.  If I used that bridge, I'd have two empty holes where the STP was.

Look closely, it's not a bridge it's a stopbar.

Mahogany Ice?
Ice-o-bar?

Nice wood. I like the iceman shape but Isn't it, like, enormously long with a baritone neck?

Iced Berry?

Its as long as my bass.  The cool thing is that the length of the neck is balanced by the length of the body.

Those are nice.  The TP-6 is a drop in replacement for a Gibson tailpiece.  It works best when not screwed down flush with the body.
