Hi guys, if I would to build a W telly to play like a Les Paul (besides to use a 24,75'' neck) what wood should I use? Is there a wood that can contribute to trasform a lighter and bolt on guitar in a Les Paul besided the classic mahogany?
Does someone have a sample of a short scale mahogany with paf pickups?

I've built a couple of chambered mahogany, maple topped Teles with a mahogany neck, rosewood or pau ferro fingerboard, and 'PAF's, and they sound great clean & overdriven. Do they sound like an LP? No, because they're not an LP, but they're about as close to that type of guitar sound and tone as you're going to get from a Tele. Of course, they sure don't sound like a Tele, either.

The 2nd one is actually a koa top, mahogany body and neck.

This guitar are beautiful, but I have to know how they are close to LP. Do you have some sample?

If you want it to play like an LP, a carved top Tele with TOMGSTP bridge & requisite angled neck (24.75 conversion) should get you as close as anything W currently offers.  Maybe you could ask em to chamber it and fill the chambers with lead? LP controls and upper toggle are all options on CTTele's

If you do it in mahog/maple cap with a mahog neck, it differs from the old LP offerings in shape only.

Why chambered to play like a LP?

It was a joke about how heavy some Les Pauls are - chamber it, then fill the chambers with lead to make it heavier.
