new pickups mean new pictures! and it was a really cool shade of blue in the sunlight this evening :icon_biggrin:

WAS: JB / Jazz combo

NOW: Dimarzio Super Distortion and Air Norton combo

i like the sound a whole lot more now. the SDs just weren't for me. and i think it looks badass all black!

Jay, you have one of the nicest collections on this board.
I see people with 20+ but I appreciate smaller collections far more.

thanks man! that means a lot. i've been thinking about parting out the black strat since it doesn't get as much play time, but whenever i go back i get a tiny "AH-HA!" moment so it stays for now. i just got a new amp (still practice amp sized, but sounds better) and i'm pretty happy with my setup for the first time in a while

Still looks great with the black p'ups, but I must say that that Tele is one of only a handful of guitars that made me appreciate zebra pickups. One of my faves on the forum.  :icon_thumright:
