This build has been over 6 months in the making.  I started with the neck from this thread.  http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=13112.msg181460#msg181460

After I f'd up the headstock topcoat, and inspired by Nick's Gold Tele deluxe (http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=5022.0), I decided I wanted to repurpose the neck.  I sent it to Tonar to refinish the headstock face and he also gave the whole neck a gloss coat.  As usual, Greg did excellent work.  The neck came out amazing.

In the meantime, I talked with Telenator about getting some WRHBs that sound like the originals from the 70's.  More details on the pickups and wiring in this thread: http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=13943

So here it is.  Definitely the most "fancy" Warmoth I've built with a birdseye neck, binding and a pearloid guard.  The pickups really do sound incredible.  I've heard nothing like them before.  Ignore the gold coloring on the frets, thats just the tinted finish that I'll play off.

I seem to recall from Telenator's discussion here and also on his website, that he has two choices. Either to go with the original materials and have it voiced as per original, or go with a better sounding option he has found along the way. What choice did you make?

BTW, nice shade of blue. :glasses9:

I did one of each.  The neck is constructed per his first forays (longer magnets, less winds) and the bridged is voiced like the originals (shorter magnets, more winds).

awesome! i've been thinking a lot about putting wide ranges into my tele deluxe... just looks so classic, and ESPECIALLY on this thing. great looking deluxe!

I like the CBS on a Tele look. but I cant Jive with the toggle/4 knobs.

and without those, the pickguard would look wrong.

but I don't know how I feel about a CBS on a Normal Pickguarded Humbucker tele.

Regardless.

this guitar looks gorgeous.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging comments.  It's my first tele bodied guitar and I have to say I'm liking the rib contour on the deluxe style body.  I'm not sure how comfortable a normal tele would be without one.

that is absolutely beautiful!!! the best deluxe since Jack's black/gold deluxe!

Is there a build thread on that one?  I'm intrigued.

EDIT: I found it: http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=356.0

That neck looks really good with the color of that body.

I would suggest that you tape off the fret board and then take 0000 steel wool and polish the finish off the frets. It takes a little elbow grease but it will look and feel better than playing it off.

PS Thank you for the kind words.

Just wet your appetite, here's a bunch of new sound clips I just finished up.

The first 6 are the CuNiFe Limited Edition pickups.

Tracks 7 -12 are the $85 MOD1 pickups. Enjoy!

Sound clips?

I'm dying to hear how that pickup combination sounds!

The guitar is absolutely beautiful!
