Telecaster body is done, but now I need your opinion on what neck!

Well, today is a good day! Warmoth finished my body that I had on order, and it looks fantastic. They took some photos of it for me, and I'm attaching them so you guys can see what it looks like.

Now I'm in a dilemma, I don't know what kind of neck is going to look good with this thing!

Money is not an option, so a really nice neck is not out of the question!

Should I go with a solid maple neck, a maple neck with a dark wood fretboard, or a solid dark neck (i.e. solid rosewood). I'm really torn on what will look good with this build, so I welcome any input you guys might have!

I think your all-rosewood idea would look great.  There are also some all-ebony tele necks in the showcase right now too.  There's also a one-piece canary that I think could work.

That is a beautiful body. Gorgeous!

How about this figured neck featured in the Screamin' Deal section?

Wow, that thing is gorgeous! I just wish it was a Tele neck...

It's also gotta be a fatback or boatneck profile. It's hard to me to play on the thinner necks.

What do you guys think about a high grade flamed maple neck, with an ebony fretboard, no inlays and a gloss finish?

It's going to have black hardware (i.e. bridge and tuners), so that black fretboard would pair nicely with it, while the exposed clear of the flame maple neck would go good with the blear burst area of the body (the body is a brown to clear burst).

What if I added an ivory binding to the neck, to match the ivory binding around the guitar?

Okay guys, here's some quick Photoshop mockups I did with different necks.

Whichever neck I choose, it will not have inlays on the face, only on the side. I think it looks cleaner that way, and I don't need the inlays on the face anyways.

I would buy that in a heart beat, but it's not a fatback or boatneck. I need the chunky neck.
Well, there might be the right one tomorrow. Of course, you can always order exactly what you want after the sale is over if you haven't found the right one.

Oh yeah, no doubt that I am going to have to order it. Funny how some options they won't let you get custom order, but you can get them in the showcase. Like maple on walnut for instance.

Call on the phone to place your order. That way you can often get something that isn't listed as an option.

Yep, just got off the phone with them. They said they can do it, it's just something they have to get approval from the shop for.

Is that body roasted Swamp Ash? Judging by the picture, if it was me, I'd be ordering a jet black Ebony over Bloodwood modern construction no inlay neck. The Bloodwood neck meat would match that back beautifully, and the dotless jet black Ebony would would look super classy, contrast nicely and wouldn't take anything away from that incredible top. Stainless frets, of course.

That's a good one, I hadn't thought of Bloodwood!

This is indeed a swamp ash body (not roasted though). Since it's a brown to clear burst, the back of it is brown.

Stainless frets of course, and no inlays. I'm not really a fan of inlays these days.

Here's one more idea too. A walnut neck with a flamed maple fretboard.

I don't care for it. The Walnut doesn't match anything, and the curly Maple is drawing the eye away from the body. Even though it's all high-end stuff, it's starting to look like a hodge-podge.
